Osteopathic manual therapy focuses on the assessment and treatment of disorders of the body’s structure, whether it is related to the pelvis, peripheral joints, visceral organs, nervous systems, venous system or spine. Osteopathic manual therapists use manipulations to the joints or organs and gentle oscillatory movements to correct biomechanical dysfunctions that are related to neuromusculoskeletal complaints. In addition to this they will also provide advice regarding exercises, diet and lifestyle to augment the bodies own healing capabilities. By restoring proper mechanics to an area the osteopathic manual therapists allows the normal flow of fluids and improves function which will help to reduce pain and normal activity for that patient.
Most health benefits plans offer coverage for this therapy. Please note, that only certain insurance companies allow for direct billing for osteopathy and you may have to submit receipts yourself. Please contact your insurance company for further information.
Antoine Rodriguez is an osteopathic manual therapist having graduated after 5 years of study at the Collège Ostéopathique Européen in France, 2016.
After graduation, he spent 5 years practicing osteopathy in France before moving to Canada. His experiences have led him to work with different demographics such as infants, prenatal/postnatal clients, athletes and geriatric clients. Antoine is registered with the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists (AAOMT) and since moving to Canada, has been practicing in Calgary since 2021.
His practice of osteopathy is unique to each patient, utilizing a broad scope of skills which include deep tissue massage as well as myotensive, structural, functional/fascial, visceral and cranio-sacral techniques.
His passion for sports led him to pursue a training exploring the practice of osteopathy in relation with athletes. Through the years, Antoine had the opportunity to work with his local running and soccer clubs in France and during this period, he helped athletes understand the cause of their injuries through osteopathic assessment and treatments.
Antoine values health and overall wellbeing and leverages his training to maintain optimal health of his patients through osteo-centric practices.
